LOST Tour: Long Con Service Station

The service station at which Sawyer and Cassidy pulled their first con is located just off Farrington Highway on Oahu's North Shore. At the time of filming it was called Eric's Expert Service, and this name can be seen on-screen in the episode The Long Con. It has since been renamed to Waialua Service.

LOST Tour: The Hydra Island Cages

I've just learned within the last few days that ABC is planning to tear down the remaining Lost sets in Oahu, including the Jughead structure, the Orchid Station, the Temple, and the Hydra Island cages. This would be a terrible loss not just for Lost fans but for Oahu tourism as well. Hopefully ABC can be convinced otherwise. The Hydra Island cages are located just a few steps away from the Orchid Station in Pleasant Park. My understanding is that the buildings and walkways near the cages were already in place but the two main cages were built by the Lost crew. The next two screencaps show the location as it appeared early in season three, followed by its appearance in season 6. Again two similar screencaps, the first from season 3 and the second from season 6 after Widmore's people had set up shop. The Hydra Station emblem was just barely visible on the walkway canopy during our visit; in fact it wasn't until our guide explicitly pointed it out that we noticed it at all...

Lost 2014 Tour: The Ghost and Mr. Miles

A residence on Hinano Street served as our second LOST location stop of the day.  The exterior of this house appears in the season 4 episode "Confirmed Dead" at the beginning of a sequence in which Miles Straume visits a grieving woman in Inglewood, California who recently lost her grandson. Miles parks in front of his client's home.  From "Confirmed Dead" Hinano street residence, 2014 Note that the lattice is no longer present in 2014.  I'm not sure if it was added by the LOST production crew or if it was there but the homeowner removed it at some point after the shoot. LOST prop: Sun's makeup tray

My third LOST prop purchase is this lovely makeup tray that can be seen in Sun's Korean apartment in the fourth season episode Ji Yeon . Sun uses the tray seconds before she begins to experience the contractions that signal the imminent arrival of her baby girl. I remember watching Ji Yeon and marvelling at the astonishing reveal at the end of the show -- the revelation that we had not been watching a post-Island flash forward involving both Jin and Sun, but instead were watching a FF of Ji Yeon's birth intercut with a flashback of Jin, in the employ of Mr. Paik, delivering a gift to a different new mother's hospital room. I also remember the shock of seeing Jin's grave and the implications thereof. Seller Tina Lau has again provided a certificate identifying the episode in which the prop is seen along with a screenshot. I hesitated for a few weeks before purchasing this prop.
