Medicom Jack Shephard 12"

Medicom put out a 12" Jack Shephard figure in 2008 as part of their Real Action Heroes line. I monitored eBay for a few months until I finally found one offered at a decent price.

I "customized" the figure by adjusting the tie such that it looked to be blown by a brisk wind.


You can get some nice angles with the figure, especially in conjunction with a bit of mood lighting.


Kate really knows how to get into Jack's head.

The jacket isn't particularly well made, but it sports a rip in one sleeve as shown in the pilot.

Lost 2014 Tour: Mr. Paik's Gazebo

There is a lovely scene in the season one episode "House of the Rising Sun" where Jin and Sun have a clandestine rendezvous in a gazebo behind Mr. Paik's estate.  Although it was dressed up with ribbons, candles, and lamps for the show, the structure does in fact exist and is located a stone's throw from the Byodo-In Temple. Jin and Sun in love, Mr. Paik's estate in the background. Gazebo with Byodo-In Temple in the background. Clearer view of the temple from just in front of the gazebo. Grounds around the gazebo. Peaceful nook near the gazebo. Gazebo ceiling So happy I was finally able to see this!

LOST Tour: Crash Beach Hillside

A range of tree-covered hills backstops the crash beach. Their most memorable appearance is probably during the pilot when the Oceanic 815 survivors first hear the Smoke Monster. (A layer of CGI trees was added in the foreground.) The beach is quite narrow. Farrington Highway stretches along most of its length, with the slopes stretching skyward from its inland shoulder. This valley between two of the hills is also recognizable in a few shots. Finally, this shot looking back on the beach from the water gives a wider view of the hills.
