A Serendipitous Hanging

I re-hung a couple of my DCAAPB posters yesterday to make room for Tyler Stout's LOST. At work today I realized I had created Smokey and the Barracks. Coming soon to a theater near you. Starring Josh Holloway as Smokey and Elizabeth Mitchell as "The Barracks". Special appearance by Burt Reynolds as Bandit Prime.



Postscript: Coincidentally, Amy Lynn posted a nearly identical photo of these two prints on lostargs.com earlier today. We're all connected....

Lost 2014 Tour: Mr. Paik's Gazebo

There is a lovely scene in the season one episode "House of the Rising Sun" where Jin and Sun have a clandestine rendezvous in a gazebo behind Mr. Paik's estate.  Although it was dressed up with ribbons, candles, and lamps for the show, the structure does in fact exist and is located a stone's throw from the Byodo-In Temple. LOST Tour: Crash Beach Hillside

A range of tree-covered hills backstops the crash beach. Their most memorable appearance is probably during the pilot when the Oceanic 815 survivors first hear the Smoke Monster. (A layer of CGI trees was added in the foreground.) The beach is quite narrow. Farrington Highway stretches along most of its length, with the slopes stretching skyward from its inland shoulder. This valley between two of the hills is also recognizable in a few shots. Finally, this shot looking back on the beach from the water gives a wider view of the hills.
